We hope that the updates help provide you with a better navigating experience, a clearer picture on our services and our role in the community. We are working on a series of updates to enhance your customer experience and our service to you. We are striving to make sure that our vision to improve our community one family at a time comes to pass. Stay tuned!
Sincerely, Anna Schnippel, Executive Director Mobile Produce Market – Our agency has become a mobile produce stop location! The Mobile Produce Market is a bus that is loaded up with a variety of fresh produce that makes stops all over the city where residents can get on the bus and buy regional, seasonal produce at well below grocery store costs. Everyone is welcome to buy from the Mobile Produce Market. There are no income requirements. The types of produce will change with the season, but it will always be fresh, healthy and cheaper than traditional retail prices. A schedule of when the Mobile Produce Market will begin making stops at our office is coming soon.
Community Garden – AMHA will be hosting a community garden at our Circular Street playground location spring 2014. More information about the garden will be coming soon. Please call 419.228.6065 and ask for Reba if you’re interested in participating. Our Housing Choice Voucher Section 8 Waiting list is currently closed.
AMHA opens its HCV waiting list on an as needed basis. When AMHA determines that the list is to be opened, public notice of the opening will be made in the local newspaper and through such other media as determined necessary to reach potentially eligible households not otherwise likely to apply. The public notice will state that applications for the Housing Choice Voucher Program will be accepted, how they will be accepted and the time frame that the waiting list will be open. Since the demand for housing assistance often exceeds the limited resources available to HUD and the local housing agencies, long waiting periods are common. Our Public Housing program is currently accepting applications for the 3 bedroom waiting list, 4 bedroom waiting lists and for Furl Williams Apartments. Applications can be picked up at 600 S. Main Street Lima, Ohio 45804, Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Below is a list of necessary documentation that is required to complete your application.
